Is the U.S. turning more into a Nazi-like police state? The Patriot Act and some of the newer acts passed by Congress (the War Commisions Act, I believe) have seriously taken away many freedoms that we have. How long will it be before people lose the rest of the freedoms that we have and the U.S. turns into a totalitarian regime similar to that of the vision of Orwell?

1.Do you know what your rights are? If so I would like to know which ones have been touched. According to the bill of rights, there is nothing in the Patriot act that infringes on or touches those rights.
2. You say we are heading to a Nazi like police state, That would be the National Socialist of 1930-45 Germany. Just a couple of steps removed from the National Socialist Democrat Party who just won congress. But quite different than the Police state in George Orwell's book 1984. Please actually read about your examples before you use them.

I don't think it's about losing freedoms so much as voluntarily giving them up. It's been said that by taking a SSN, you 'contract' with the state to receive priviledges bestowed by the SS system, and that you automatically waive your constitutional rights at that point. So I suppose it could be argued that none of us in the SS system are "free."
We can only hope and pray that the people of this country wake up to the coming nightmare and do everything in their power to stop it, somehow.

Freedoms will continue to be lost until America does something drastic. Like, use those freedoms.

i am very open minded kiknd of guy never really belived in all that NEW WORLD ORDER stuff but bush is maken me more and more belive in it and also a police state

The only way to STOP this evil ,corrupt, treasonous government, is to STOP Being Sheeple and STOP giving them money . (stop paying taxes) ! !
