My daughter is seven months old and has been eating solid foods since 5 1/2 months without any problems until recently. She's not taking as much food as she used to and about twice daily she will vomit everything she has ate. I know this sounds weird but if the food is the color orange, I noticed she eats it more readily and doesn't vomit it back up usually. I've stopped giving her bottles right after feeding her solids but even if I wait an hour or so to give her one she still throws it up. When she was first born she had reflux but that cleared up by 2 months, can it reoccur? Am I do something wrong? Is it the way I schedule the feedings? I try to get her to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner but if she throws it all up how will she get any nutrition. She's still gaining weight and she is not lethargic as a result of all this, she still has the energy that a seven month old should have. I am planning on taking her to the doctor. Anyone else dealt with the same problem?

Reflux can be reoccurring. I would take her to the doc and see what they say. It sounds to me like you are doing all the right things. You might want to get her some vitamin drops if you're worried about her getting enough nutrition. They come flavored or non, I used the non and just put it in my baby's sippy cup, usually the first drink of the day. That way, I knew she would have her vitamin.

How big is your baby? Once a baby reaches 12 pounds they do not need a night feeding, they are just waking for your company, out of habit, or because of sleep problems. I have a 4 mo. old who is only breastfed and she has been sleeping through the night since 10 weeks. One way to eliminate the night feedings is to delay responding to him. Start with 15 min. and then keep pushing out the time and he will start to drop one of the feedings as you stretch the time between feedings. He also may just go back to sleep on his own if you give him the chance. Babies this age need the sleep for their development, they can get plenty of mom's milk during the day. My baby who sleeps from 7 pm to 7 am weighs 16 pounds so she definitely is not missing out on growing by not having a night feeding. Also, I highly recommend the book: Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. Sometimes babies who wake up often in the middle of the night aren't getting enough naps during the day and/or have too late of a bed time.

I would give her the bottle before she eats wait a bit after the bottle and then feed her because at this age the milk is more important and then whatever she eats in solids she eats. She is probably throwing up because she is getting too much to eat. My guess anyway.
