Madagascar is a tropical island. Temperature in summer may reach 35 degrees but in winter it will be around 20. Some places like Antsirabe in the uplands are cooler and may even be very cold in winter.

In the capital city (tana) it was fairly cool, around 20 degrees. elsewhere in the central plateaux it could get as low as 15 or so degrees and be wet and overcast. The south of the country is completely different, very hot in deed! ( the hotest day I measured was 48 degrees in the shade. on the north coast (maroantsetra) it was more comfortable (around 30 degrees)
