I'm planning on purchasing an ipod shuffle (2nd generation) as a present for someone in the philippines. he doesnt have a computer, so i'm just going to put his fave songs on there before i ship it. my only problem is the charging part. and since he doesnt have a computer, if i purchase the wall adapter, and send it to him too, will it work in the philippines. I know North America has 110V while Philippines has 220V. Please help!!!

The plugs look the same but its 220V in philippines. Everything I've used from either country worked fine in both PI and USA. Most modern appliances and chargers are compatible with both levels of voltage. I've got 3 cell phones I bought in PI and their chargers still work fine here.....and vice versa.

My fiancee has an ipod that I purchased in the States and she has no problem charging it in the Philippines.

Yup. I am an American who bought my Ipod there and the plug is good for 100-240V. He does not need a transformer, he can plug it directly into the wall.

If it makes him feel safer, he can double check the little box thing (where the Ipod plug is) and read the words "AC 100-240V".
