I had a really sharp pain on my right side Jan. 22 Someone had told me that it was probably because I was ovulating. So I had sex that night and the night after. Could I get pregnant having sex on those days? My period is like only a week away can I still get pregnant with my period being so close. How long do I need to wait to take a test. I dont think it would show the day I miss my period because conception would have been to close to my period, so should I wait till like the week after? That way it has a better chance of being accurate and making the hormone for pregnancy?

Ovulation happens 12-16 days before your next period. If you ovulated on the 22nd the earliest you could expect your period would be about Feb. 3. A home test will be 99% accurate the day after your period is due.

I would wait until after you miss your period so that way you can let the hormone level build up. If you are pregnant a pregnancy test should be able to tell you when you miss your period! But right now it would be too early!

Ovulation happens 12-16 days before your period starts not 7 days. Sorry hope that helps.
