I wanted to post this in Spanish but the powers that be deemed the only apporpriate language to be English so here goes...

1. What do think of the concept of "Latinismo"?
2. Do you think it's realistically possible in our day and age and if so should we then attempt this goal or do you think there's no real need for it?
3. Does this mean we surrender our own nationalistic tendencies and embrace a greater cause?

My own view is that not only is it possible but warranted in this day and age.

Xenophobes, please don't waste your time trying to answer with your limited understanding of a situation you know nothing about.

I am an American Puertojo.

American is the key word.

I have followed history of civil rights and the plight of ******/blacks/african Americans and jews and others who where persecuted simply for being of a particular race.

Then there was the story of how at Martin Luther King hospital which was dominated and controlled by blacks, there was discrimination against Latino workers, and how blacks abused their new found powers to keep the Latinos down and in lower paying jobs etc.

My point is that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Let's not start this reverse racism trash talking and lets realize that everyone can and should have a place in this great democracy. coño!

It isn't realistically possible. The only thing we have in common is that we speak something close to Spanish. But, the truth is, many nations hate somebody else, specially, if they are neighbors.

we as latinos need to respect and honor our herritage as well as embrace the culture we are living in. There is a lot of intollerance and ignorance that we must deal with and that is just what we have to do, deal with it and move on; hoping to make the best of everything that we can and living by the laws of the US

latinismo... hmmm.. fist of all.. it's not a word.. lol... hmmm but i think is a way of saying that people are imitating.. latinos?...
there latinos everywhere!.. not only in the USA.. all around the world....but in USA it's an everyday issue... so not talking of latinos.. or latino culture..or latinismo, it's like we say in spanish: " tapar el sol con un dedo"... what it means it's pretend we ( latinos) are not here..
