I am looking for camps/summer programs aimed at 15 to 18 year olds. The camps would preferably be located in the continental US (I am not looking for exchange programs or study abroad programs). Some of the criteria:

-Not too expensive (although that alone should not be too much of a limiting factor if the camp is fantastic)
-Sleep-away (somewhere between one week and a month)
-Co-ed
-Can be either achedemic or art-related or adventure-related
-Something other than the programs such as Outward Bound or a university pre-colege programs (part of the reason that I am using this method for information is to hear about some of the wonderful camps that are not as well advertised and heard about by word-of-mouth)

Thank you, all help is greatly appreciated.

I send my boys to Big Lake, in Oregon. It's a great location, great counselors, activities, etc. It's Luthern based, but not overly religeous. The menu is vegetarian (and we're not) but the boys say that the food isn't bad.

I think it's reasonably priced, with a wide range of dates and activities. You can sign up as early as March, and make payments on it.

Last summer, there were kids from Japan there, so needless to say, kids from all over attend.

Try Griffith Park Boys Camp, or Camp Hollywoodland(Girls Camp) or look on the internet for camps like math camps, sports camps, and other kinds of camps.

I always went to Girl Scout camp and my brother always went to Boy Scout camp. They are relatively inexpensive, offer programs for all ages, and teach a lot of outdoor activities, arts & crafts, camping, all that good campy stuff. I don't think you have to be a girl or boy scout to go to the camps either.

I have seen several of these camp questions and see that NASA Space Camp has been left out of all. There are several different programs available and most even apply toward college credit.
