The key to lasting eyeshadow lies on the concealer more than on the shadow itself. I recommend using a light concelear on both the top and lower eyelid. Apply the shadow with a brush, not those cheap spongy things that somethimes come with shadows. I would also suggest using the MAC brand-they have very nice colors and great quality. First line the lids on top and bottom with a black or very dark brown shadow and using a slanted thin brush. Then powder around the lids with a slightly lighter shade of the same color and blend with the line for a perfect smoky look.

U can use any color do an smokey eye. It just depends on what color u want to use. Try M.A.C. U have to blend really well to achieve the look that u want. Or go to your local beauty counter and ask the people there. They should tell u and do an demo on you.

Go to this website www.asianbeautyblog.com. She has a really good tutorial on youtube. And the best way to ensure that they last longer would be to put a base and foundation on your eyelids before applying the eyeshadow.

use brown or smokey gray, smudge a little with a cotton swab. Or apply neutral beige on the eyelid and use the more intense color for the outer eye corners only (smudge also)

Go to the makeup counters and have the girls show you how to do it. So much easier and helpful if you watch it being done. Bring up concealer and have them show you how to apply it to make it last longer!
