a pda is more like a pocket pc which has all important features of a pc..but how exactly is the operating system designed for this purpose.

Basically, the OS will handle less operations than a Desktop will. You do not need to worry about video card drivers, current loads, or the commands for coordinating disk drives. You could in a matter of speaking say, the OS of a PDA is Less programming than the desk top, because there are less functions that the PDA has to do.
