Ummmm....here's a better indicator. In the Ultrasound, does the baby have a PENIS?

Heart rate has NOTHING to do with fetal gender

i would like to believe that the tale is true that the higher heart rate its a girl, lower boy. But its just not true. Im 19 weeks pregnant and the heart beat has always been in the 160's. I have two boys and they were always in the 130's-150's BUT this doesnt mean anything. If you watch the baby channel on TLC...Birth day, they show all kinds of different heart rates for different sexes. So its hard to say, id only trust the ultrasound....and even that can sometimes be wrong. I wont know what im having for another 6 days and i cannot wait!!!!

Like the first person said it is only an old wives' tale. I did have one ob-gyn who believed in it. When my first born had a heart rate of 128 my ob-gyn said it would most likely be a boy due to the lower numbers and sure enough I did have a boy. My girls were always in the 150s - 160s so I dunno...it seems to be somewhat useful at least in my case. Your heartrates are somewhat inconclusive because they are in the middle. Just guessing though based on my experience I'd guess it was a girl...

Wait on the ultrasound. Hopefully they can give you conclusive results on that for the sex of your baby. Girls can be harder to determine than boys...

They say a boys heart reate is in the 160s but my 1st baby was a girl and her heart rate was always 160-170 My 2nd was also a girl and her heart rate stayed around 145. I dont think this is a good way to tell

YOu can't really put anything into heart rate. Everytime my OB would listen to my sons heartrate he would say that it was going to be a girl. But I had already seen the proof on the ultrasound!

LOL! you can't tell unless you get the actual ultrasound done. I was praying for a boy but everyone had me convinced I was going to have a because of all the fokelore such as the heartbeat. Thankfully I got the boy I prayed for!

You can't go by that. My daughter was supposed to be a boy. First, by the heartbeat and also by the ultrasound. That's an old wives tale.

You really can not use that to tell anytjing. I have 2 of each and my first son and second daughter had almost the same heartbeat which was faster and then my first daughter and second son were close but a bit slower. Just have an ultra-sound and ask for the sex.

According to the old wives tales it's a boy. At 18 weeks, you should have been able to find out though for sure.
