It's very interesting that so many people mentioned the pyramids and the sphinx, no wonder so many people don't really know what Egypt really is about! For me when I hear the word "Egypt" the first thing that comes to mind is HOME. For me, It's where my heart lies, it's where family and friends are. I was born and raised in Egypt. I've been away from Egypt for the past 12 years, but Egypt will always be home for me. My best memories are in Egypt. My closest friends are there. A big smile comes on my face when I think about it. We have a great culture in Egypt, but we also need to think of the present and the future there. We give people the wrong idea when all we talk about is the pyramids and the nile. Egypt is alot more than that. Egypt has the warmth of a mother's heart towards her children. The kindess of the next door neighbor. I love and I'm very loyal to where I live now, but my heart will always belong to Egypt!

I think of a country with an incredible ancient history, that has inspired scholars for thousands of years.Of the Nile, that has always been and remains its means of survival.
My thoughts go to its people those of the past who created its history and those of today, who are its present.
I think of dear friends I have made there, and the space in my heart that remains until we meet again.
Also of the children who are its future, and my hope that they will somehow all have access to education and employment.
For I know they will need this to carry Egypt successfully into the next century.
Somehow these thoughts bring a tear to my eye.

The image of the proud, strong woman of Mahmoud Mokhtar's (the sculptor) statue "Nahdet Masr" comes up into my mind. (That's when Egypt comes in context with the positive things we love about it. i.e. the "love" relationship)
When i m mad about Egypt i.e. the "hate" relationship. i have many odd images comes to my mind. Always those bad images when it comes to politics and all the negative s h i t we all know about.
