Well she needs to look pass the attitude. Maybe he does this so that he can avoid his responsibilities. If having an attitude deters her from asking the question then I guess he has won. His attitude is his problem and she can't take responsibility for that. If she hasn't set boundaries after 21yrs with him then it may be impossible now. Good Luck.

I think the best thing is to be specific about what she expects him to pay for. They should sit down and discuss the budget and how he will contribute to it. He needs to get an attitude of gratefulness since your mom is footing all the bills. This can lead to a lot of resentment in a relationship. If he doesn't agree to help with the bills, she may consider giving him a big spanking! Oh no, he might like that! Anyway, good luck with this and I hope there will be a positive change in your home.

PUT HIS A** OUT. How do you be with someone for 21 years and he not understand that he needs to pay bills apparently he has not been paying in the 21 years or she would not have this problem. she most have been excepting this for 21 years.
BABY DROP THAT EXTRA HEAVY WEIGHT OFF YOURS SHOULDERS AND SET HIM FREE and go live where he can lay and and live free and that is the community shelter.

OK your friends mom has been with this man for along time, so evidently she is in love with him and doesn't want to lose him.
What she needs to do is talk to him about this problem and explain that she needs help financially. If he loves her then he will help her through. This should not be a problem for him unless he is in a financial disaster himself. If this man will not help her in a time of need she needs to ask herself why she is staying with an uncaring man. Any boyfriend who really loves his girl will help her in need and if he doesn't then he is not worth it ,and she should be strong and move on. There are many great guys out there, you just have to look! What she needs is confidence and a strong will. She can do it!!!!!!

If they are living together and he isnt paying the bills....kick him out of the house....he isnt a man if she is supporting him...he just has a nice little honey hole.
If they are not living together then why should he pay any of her bills? Helping out is one thing freeloading is quite another.

She needs to let him go...... if he is a grown man, and can't face the fact that he has to assist financially..... then out he goes!
But then again, she has been putting up with his bull for how long?.... 21 years, she may have issues.
I rather do it on my own that with him as baggage!

Stop paying or the guys stuff unless she enjoys paying for his stuff and can afford it. Tell him to help or get out.

She's been with him for 21 YEARS, she obviously likes it, and won't do a damn thing to change it.

They are not married so there is no reason why she has stayed with him this long in the first place.
