I would never play pocket 2's unless I was playing my kids for fun.

It all depends on the situation
If we are in a tournament and 4 are left and 3 get paid money, and you go all in for your last 1000 when the blinds are 400/800, and i am last to act i instantly call with 22 because
1 - you are so shortstacked that you could be going all in with a large range of hands
2 - If i am the bigstack on the button, i may reraise all in so that neither of the blinds call me.
3 - I am a favorite against any nonpair hand
Yes that is correct - A FAVORITE AGAINST ANY NON PAIRED HAND
Yes 22 is a favorite heads up against AK. It is a favorite heads up against QJ. Against both hands, it would be a slight underdog, which is why i said it is to your advantage to reraise for isolation
So no, it is not a great hand to see a flop with, because there has to be overcards and unless you hit a set, you are likely done with the hand .... but it is a good hand to go all in with if you are shortstacked and think one player might call you without a pair

Pocket 2's is a playable hand under the correct circumstances - limping in late position with many limpers already, raising on the button without any previous callers, fly-swatting, etc.
In your example given, it the player with pocket 2's had a 10:1 chip stack lead to the other player and no other players were in the hand, then it was a correct call (called fly-swatting). If they were equal in chips, then it was probably a bad call, but depends on what and how the other the player has been playing (if he has been playing rags, then the call may be justified).
If the call appears unjustified, then encourage the player with the pockets 2's to continue to play like that and play at any table he plays at. (Sammy Farha is great at congratulating bad plays.)

Pocket twos are a great hand..if you go all in blind and the flop comes out 2-2-3 with the turn a 9 and the river an Ace!!

pocket aces certainly are much better but if a 2 comes up in the flop, pocket 2's are pretty good. I have stayed in with them before and ended up with 4 of them - that is very nice.

They are good to limp in with especialy in position, but should be folded to a raised pot. If you hit the flop with trips your good to go , if you miss check it down or fold to any bet i woud say.
If the player who went all in first was pushing hands due to a short stack and facing geting blinded out. I would consider it depending on there chip stack and mine.

No I don't hate them, I don't hate any cards actually, it depend on the situation, position, chips stack size, opponents........etc.
Take care
