According to Bush, it's just a piece of paper and doesn't deserve any respect.
So the right to habeus corpus means nothing to noone else?

Very few people in Taiwan seek unification with Mainland China. Popular opinion turned firmly against unification many years ago. The vast majority of Taiwanese recognize that China is the emerging military threat. Everyone is afraid of a Communist, so Taiwan wants to avoid a Commie. The old argument for Taiwanese independence assumed that China was bad, America was good, and international trade was using the Chinese as slaves. The new reality is that China's Communist government didn't care for Chinese people, an irresponsible government allowing child labor and sweatshops. Did you know that China is Taiwan's only military threat? The Taiwanese people can't wake up in the morning without knowing China pointing 1500 missiles at the island, so why fight for your freedom? Independence is a reality, unification is a fantasy.

Just curious...Have you ever voted? That's how we change the people who make up the "government".
It's en mass & exactly who is the govt murdering if they don't believe what?
I have never been controlled by fear. In fact the only time I become really fearful is when I read some of the questions & answers on this site & see how poorly informed about the facts many folks are, & how challenging the English language appears to be when people try to express their thoughts.
Not putting you down personally . Just wish people thought through the questions before they post things which either make little sense or serve no purpose but hate mongering.

Hate to admit it but I have to agree. The government has gone beyond the scope of reasonable or just actions. We elected them, so it is our own doing. Don't like the current state of affairs, then vote them out and put a another group of professional politicians in. Until then , enjoy the ride.

Be glad that we have a governmental system that allows even fools to spout their "knowledge" to the people.
Are we a perfect society...No! But any society with more than 1 person is inheritantly flawed.
As a whole we're not doing too bad.... Can it be better..yea!!!
This is an ever changing vista that will adapt to the times that are given to them.
The D of I was written in a much simpler time.... to have its ideals last into the 21st century is remarkable.

clearly, not everyone agrees with your assertions or else our government wouldn't be around in its present form.
As far as the list of reasons impelling our founding fathers to declare independence, it seems not too many apply to today. Basically you should learn a little more about the declaration of independence and current government before acting like you inderstand it
from the declaration of independence
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. (1st, we don't have a King, so no assent need be given to pass laws)
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. (again, no King, and the president has veto power, which is not only rarely used, but also not powerful enough to forbid absolutely)
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only. (We have local governments which pass laws).
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures. (Washington DC, and local capitals are quite convenient to reach now days)
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people. (Don't believe the house has ever been disolved)
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within. (We have national elections ever 2 years and a president limited to 2 terms)
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.(US population has grown and continues to grow to this day through immigration)
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers. (we have a judicial branch)
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. (Judges serve for life, meaning they have no conflict to protect their job)
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance. (New offices have been created over the course of our history, and generally supported by vast majorities, not opposed because they harrass).
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. (Congress consents to the military by approving funding and confirming appointments)
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. (The military is under a Civilian Commander and Chief and funded by a civillian Congress)
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever. (The US acts independant and under no other earthly authority
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us. (we don't have a King and our leader is not waging war with us)
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people. (our seas, coasts, and towns are in pretty good shape and the only ravaging that occurs occurs from natural causes.)
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation. (Our leader has not hired mercenaries to wage war against us)
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands. (The US does not hold its own citizens hostage and force them to fight against other citizens)
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions. (Our leader has fought to keep those bent on distruction out of the country, not bring them in to insige insurrection. When was the last time the government invited the Taliban to come hang out?)
