How long does a lawyer have to do a divorce case in Arkansas? This divorce case has been going on for over 18 months and not over with yet.

I can't speak with respect to Arkansas law, but that can take years here in California. It would really depend on the complexity involved.

Here in California, you can get an interim dissolution grant you a divorce but other issues might remain pending such as child custody, payment of support and division of property. You can be divorced and remarry but have legal actions pending that impacts related issues.

Depending on the circumstances, in California they can last for years.

Call another attorney in your state and inquire. It could be the other side is delaying things or your attorney is a lazy bum.
