Judge the candidate, not the university, but keep in mind that AMU is not actually operated by the American Military; it is an online correspondence school developed to
A) Make a profit (Most traditional colleges are not-for-profit) and
B) cater to the needs of military personnel who do not stay in one place at a time. (Enrollment is not limited to the military, either.) It is accredited as a university, which is a good thing.

From Westpoint, VMI, The Citadel, and the Naval Academy? Absolutely.
From the for-profit diploma mill American Military University? Absolutely not.
