Sorry if this sounds silly but I am about 27 weeks pregnant with my first child...and the past few days I have had these clear globs of what I think might be my mucous plug coming out...I know its probably way too soon and i don't want to over-react. So any advice would be appreciated...thanks!

It may just be increased cervical mucous, which is normal in the last trimester.

If it is your mucous plug it will look more like blood tinged snot.

If you DO lose your plug, it regenerates in about 48 hours if you don't go into labor.

Hmm..that is a little soon. With my second child I lost mine at around 35 wks and had him at 37. I know this sounds gross, but does it look like snot? If it does then it probably is the plug. My plug came out all at once though. You might want to call your doctor and get it checked out.

You can talk with your doctor but I read at several sites you can lose it early and it regenerates (Grows back) and your baby shouldnt be in harm. I would still talk with your DOC

PLus I think the mucus plug isnt clear. You may just be having alot of discharge

And yes you can lose your plug over days. Who ever said you couldnt didnt research the subject

I would go to your hospital now! It could be your mucous plug starting to come out, or just discharge, but it is super early and you need to be on the safe side. You need to be checked for cervical changes. If you were beginning to go into premature labor, they could probably stop it if you get there soon enough! Go now please and get checked. My first child was born at 35 weeks, and had to stay in the NICU for 5 days and it was awful even for that short period of time..go now!

Wow... what a query. With my first toddler I had her 8 hours after dropping my plug... With my 2nd I had her 12 hours after. My 0.33 i grow to be triggered 2 weeks after dropping my plug and my fourth I had an emergency c section after 28 LOOOOOOONG hours of exertions... So the ethical of this tale there is not any volume of time everybody can inform you. it is diverse with each being pregnant. good success!

Have you recently had sex? It could be your man's semen, which could have lingered due to the fact that you had sex. I know (this is gross, but I'm trying to help) but after my boyfriend and I have sex, about 2 days later for the whole day I have a bunch of globs coming out of me. It's really rather disgusting and it makes me so sick, but it's what happens. Call your doctor though...that might help

You do not lose your plug over days, and yes it would be way to early! Call your OB sounds like you have a infection, many infections if ntreated can cause preterm labor, so all & tell them you need to be seen. Good Luck

I wouldn't worry unless you start having contractions. I lost my mucus plug a few times, and my OB told me that some women lose them early, but it doesn't mean anything. It might even grow back.
