Good luck, most trucking companies pride themselves on their drivers' experience and SAFETY...so I think you might have a problem, at least for a year or two.

Even if that 0.5 point had dropped off the next day, if they considered it an unexcused absence, you'd have been at 7 points and fired regardless. The thing about a progressive point system for attendance is that you can have a catastrophic event (like you did), and if you are otherwise a reliable employee it won't have impact on your employment. You are not an otherwise reliable employee if you were sitting on the brink of termination for attendance before this. If your union doesn't back you on this, you really have no leg to stand on. And you have zero chance for success with a legal case-you were fired for legitimate cause with a documented attendance issue. There were a number of things that contributed to this termination, all of them your own fault. The accumulation of 6.5 points on the attendance policy is your fault. Losing control of your car because you were speeding (which is what your accident report will show if you got ticketed), and even if you say you weren't speeding you were obviously traveling too fast for conditions or you wouldn't have lost control of your car-your fault. Your phone battery being dead-your fault. Going to your mother's house instead of to work to discuss with them immediately-your fault. Sorry, but you have no legal defense to the termination.

Well, a suggestion would be to go to a driving class. DO you have any moving violations on your record. Did you get tickets with these accidents? Check to see if there is anything on your driving abstrct through your local DMV. If there is no record on your Driving Abstract the new companies you are applying at wouldn't know.
Look into possibly a local courier position

Where the accidents your fault? Of did they fire you becasue you were involved in any accident? If they are not your fault get the accident reports so it will clear you.

Good luck!!!
