can anybody tell me what the minimum and maximum legal requirement is on working space in an office please?

i work in a workshop and we have a small office for us to do paper work and have our lunch in and due to new staff being taken on we are becomming a liitle cramped and need a bigger office, i need to put my case forward to the boss but need to have my facts right first. so can any one answer my question please
