-1(3m2n3)

Remove parenthesis around (3m2n3)
-1 * 3m2n3

Multiply -1 * 3
(-3m2n3)^2

First, let's square what's in the parentheses. You first square the 3, then the m², then the n³:
(3)² (m²)² (n³)² = 9m^4n^6

Now just multiply the whole thing by -1 and you have
-9m^4n^6

= -9m^4 * n^6 You should notice that the minus sig is OUTSIDE
the parenthesis and so it is NOT afected by the sqaring operation
