= +/- 13

Not sure I totally understand the question, but the square root of 169 is +/- 13. That is 13*13 = 169, and (-13)*(-13)=169 as well.

+/-square root of 169=+/-square root of 13^2=+/-13
or square root of ^13^2=13^2/2 =+/-13
