Use a hair-dryer!
1. Scrape off as much wax as possible from material.
2. Put some absorbent towelling on wax.
3 Heat with dryer until towelling absorbs wax.
4 Change paper and repeat heating.
5. Hot water on cloth towel can then be used to 'blot' up the wax color shadow. Allow to dry and repeat if necessary.
Zippo lighter fluid dissolves wax but can damage some surfaces and bleach colors so be careful if you have to use this.

I will assume this is on fabric... Take about three paper towels and put over the wax. Take your iron and turn it on medium. Iron over the paper towels over the wax. The wax will soak up into the paper towels. This works great on carpet... Not sure how well on clothes though. Keep putting fresh paper towels down until you get up all the wax.

fold a paper towel in half, lay it on the wax build up, put a standard clothes iron onto the paper towel, wait for complete absorption!

Try this stuff called Oops! It claims it will dissolve anything - and it works pretty good. Took Black Sharpie marks off my kitchen table.
