WHAT??? Are u kidding me?? You need to report them to the ethics board, and to whomever else! Start with the Head Residential Dr. on board at that hospital & make your complaint because that is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It's going to be really hard to prove your case though if noone else heard it, becuz im sure the Dr & the nurses arent going to be honest.
Why didnt you say sumthing to them, Scott? I would've politely gotten up, walked into the nurses station and REALLY gave them sumthin to talk about. They all would've been patients after I was through.

You definitely need to speak to a lawyer. He or she can tell you whether or not a lawsuit sounds like a good idea. (In my opinion, I say sue, but I'm not a lawyer.) A good thing to do would be to document everything you can remember. Include dates, times, names, etc. This will help the lawyer build a case. Also, definitely call the office of the hospital administrator and file a formal complaint. Again, you'll need to give dates, times, names, etc. Unfortunately, things like this do happen in the medical field. As a former nurse, I witnessed things like this on several occasions at different facilities.. I'm sorry for what happened to you. Good luck.

Well definitely call up the doctor and nurse's supervisor and ask to speak to him or her first. The supervisor definitely needs to know what happened. If he or she reports the two or, better yet, fires them, then voila. You've done your job. If after you report them that the hospital seems indifferent or isn't doing anything at all to better the situation, then I would definitely sue. Basically, do step one. If that doesn't work, then proceed to step two. I wouldn't do the reverse.

If this really happen i think you should address this with the CEO, Admin and also to the board of directors maybe there needs to be a training on culture competency. and sensativity..........I really don't think suing is the answer..............and demand a public apology...........actually you would be making a smooth way for a next gay person who comes along............Let try to educate people

This doesn't sound like any hospital experience I've ever had. I'm not saying it didn't happen to you but I think you may be overstating the situation. You were ill and our minds do funny things to us when we're not at our best. If I were you, I would make an appointment with the doctor and talk to him to share your concerns. Suing the doctor isn't the answer.

Find a lawyer who will do a free consultation and they will let you know if you have a strong case or not. Sounds like you would.

If it was really that bad I'd say something to someone high up in the hospital.

That is definetly a case of discrimination. Sue them for all you can. Good Luck!
