Yes. We had a relatively quiet dog once. This one rainy day she kept barking at the door going to the rec room down stairs. When I checked out why she was barking so much, water was running in thru the basement door and flooding the floor. Luckily, we were able to stop the water in time and save all the carpeting.

my dog is pawing my leg right now, which translates to," if you don't take me outside RIGHT NOW, i'll give you a disaster on the carpet! Let's GO, dammmit!"

yes my dog warned me of a fire years ago. good boy!! we all got out and it was put out without too much damge to pay for, but it was scary at the time.
