This was very funny - cos it's me that tends to wear socks with sandals (the big chunky type of sandal) when it's cooler :P
Having said that, it depends on the socks (and the sandals) as to how horrible it looks.
I think it can look vaguely cute on women, but usually terrible on men. But I agree the person is much more important than the image.

Not only do you have lawful grounds to divorce your husband for wearing socks with sandals while out in public with you, you also have grounds to make a Citizen's Arrest!! Dressing like that isn't just a bad idea - it's against the law!!!

Depends - if it's the husband wearing socks with sandals it's just one of those "Yeah well men have no sense of decency anyway" things. If it's the wife then it's unquestionably grounds for divorce because women should know better!!!!!!

If he likes it, you should love it. But try to compliment this person on what you think they will look good in, eventually the compliments will go to their head and the socks and sandals will be out the window.

I know people that wear sandals with socks but in the summer time they come outside with sneakers and NO socks. How a** backwards is that?

just tell him not to wear the socks! not that complicated, you know. and yes, it's possible to do it in a way that doesn't hurt his feelings. not that i have any experience with socks and sandals. but with lots of other stuff, yes.

Im a female & sometimes like socks with sandles because it keeps my feet cleaner & more comfortable.Lighten up,,its only clothes.Who really cares about what someone wears as long as they are clean.

I walk around in my booties at home so when I have to go get my mail I slip into my flip flops.It looks tacky but I still do it.
