I'll be working on that day.......but since I'm in Iraq......I'll just have to make it up to my wife when I come home.

You gotta take that special someone out on V-day. Or if you want to avoid crowds and long waits, etc., cook them a romantic meal at home. Stay away from French food though... some of it's hard to make and doesn't taste very good.

Me personally, I'm going sit at home all alone and drink myself stupid and make snide, cynical comments to myself about the stupidity and Hallmark quality of the holiday to forget my woes of spending yet another Valentine's Day alone.

But at least I won't be paying $10 extra per rose for the ones with the longer stems that are just going to get cut off once the recipient goes to put them in water... what a rip off...

Me and my significant other are getting married by a justice of peace on Valentine's Day. I think this is the best gift he could ever give me!

But other than that we'll go out to celebrate our marriage AND Valentine's Day. Yes, eventhough all the restaurants will be filled with young couples. And even if we have to wait 1,5 hours like last year.

And then later that night we'll probablt cuddle up in bed and watch a romantic movie (my favorites), like we do at least 2-4 times a week :)

Good luck!

Since we think dinner out on valentines is over-rated, I'm cooking. Mediterranean food. There will be a little bit of each dish. which includes avocado and shrimp, eggplant rolls, Lebanese Kousbariya (fish), roast meatballs and eggs, Asparagus Milanese, mushrooms stifado, and for dessert, Bananas flambe!

I've never made any of this before, which is why there will be a little of everything. If one thing isn't good then there will be a lot to take it's place. At least I know he loves banana flambe! Should be a feast.

We were planning on going out for a romantic dinner the weekend b4 or after Valentines. However, I was just asked to volunteer to help with a game at my kids school that night... so we're going out to dinner on Valentines Day instead!

We don't really "do" valentines day to be honest, it's all about businesses making money etc, and I find it more romantic when my b/f remembers our anniversary rather than a date that is written all over every calendar or diary. However, we aren't totally cold towards it, as my b/f is a chef I tend to cook HIM something rather than him slaving away in the kitchen, and we have a peaceful candlelit dinner followed by a candle lit bath, or something along the lines of that

We're going to see Yo La Tengo and then the next day, we're going to see Brian Regan.

I think I'll cook something romantic for my boyfriend, since he does so many nice things for me.

I was also thinking of getting him a giant fortune cookie covered in candy hearts...something sweet for my sweetie.

We're not actually celebrating on Valentine's Day, but it is nice to have something special planned; there doesn't need to be a designated day to do something wonderful, either...but, like I said, it feels nice.

I think my husband and I will drop our little boy off at grandma's for the night and go to the casino and get a room. Probably have dinner there and gamble and have some cocktails. Probably wait until the weekend though.
