I as well am stunned.

America does have some of the most selfish people who take this great country for granted.

On July 4th, 2005, Liberal groups burned flags to celebrate their rights. (Not the country of course, just it's rights). It's abusive and sickning.

With that said, there are still a lot of people in this country who love it to death and would put themselves in harms way to protect it.

And there's always anti-American sentements during war. It's been like that since the civil war.

I doubt your are an Enlishman and we as Americans have the right to dissent. One method of expressing our rage at our Government is to burn the flag. Does not mean we don't love our Country. We do and we want to keep it our Country. Not the Government's Country.
We loved our Country even when we had to fight to make it our own. It was England at one time. We fought our own Country to make a Country of our own. I would call that extreme dissent.

I've never burned a flag. Nor would I. But I can tell you this much, extreme patriotism and nationalism and disregard of our constitution without questioning the leaders policies scare the hell out of me more than watching someone burn the symbol of the flag.

I agree with firespider
the flag stands for if you agree or oppose policy , we as Americans are allowed to question out politicians, after all they are elected by we the people
but why destroy the symbol that stands for any side of the issue, makes NO sense to me

Thanks for your view Sid. I agree that the in fighting really is damaging to our country but I don't see it as hate for the country. I think it is the opposite in that people love it so much that they are trying to fix it but no one is listening to different views. As for the flag burners they are a disgrace IMO but they too have their rights. How are your people doing in support of Blair. OK I hope.

We don't hate our country. We question our leaders. There is a difference. Last time I checked, I hadn't burned any flags.

All Americans do not burn flags. Most of us find it deplorable, and most of us are extremely patriotic.

If you must burn a flag, please do the rest of the country a favor, and wrap yourself up in it first.
