I understand that NFL players salaries are prorated over the 16 regular season games and the NFL compensates them for preseason and playoff games. What are the pay scales for those games?

They do get bonuses depending on how far they go in the playoffs, and get paid for each round. This year's payouts are:

Wild Card - $19K for division winners, $17K for others

Divisional Playoff - $19K

Conference championship - $37K

Super Bowl - $73K for winning, $38K for losing

If the Colts were to win, they'd get a total of $148,000 for having won in all four rounds. If the Bears win, they'd get $129,000 each because they weren't in the wildcard spot.

All of the numbers are about halfway down this page:

Compared to what the owners make, no, not at all. However, I do believe that owners should be less focused on making money and more focused on the NFL and how football is played a player safety, while making it the most enjoyable to watch for the fans, and because of that I think the amount the owners are making is ridiculous. If the owners made less money and focused on the NFL, as I said before, then players should get less money, although that is never happening.

They have a yearly salary that is paid biweekly. They may recieve bonuses that are in their contracts for reaching certain rounds of the playoffs. All players receive an extra bonus for making the Super Bowl, and they get more if they are on the winning team.

They will get bonuses base on how far they go in the playoffs. Typically its not all that much based on their salary. If Peyton gets an extra 30-40k for winning in the superbowl thats like the averge person getting an extra 50$.

I don't know about the playoffs, but the Super Bowl is still the same it has been for years.

Winners----$36,000 per player
Losers------$18,000 per player
