Ok first of all, on quick exam I can't find a BIG difference between the two other then color and very slight price difference.

Secondly, the +R and -R has no bearing on which one you buy, it has to do with the types of DVD disks you buy.

From the site you gave, it looks as if you are overseas... and the more common type is the DVD-R.

However, you need to look at your DVD players and read the manual to find out what types of DVD's it will read. Some machines will ONLY read -R some only +R.

So you need to find out what your machine will read before you go and buy DVD disks.

The machine also doesn't matter in regards to burning movies. That has to do with the software.

The burning software is what converts the movie from .avi format (or others) to DVD format.

There are problems with the lite-on lightscribe drives in the 18X and 20X versions. After lightscribing, they will not burn at a speed any faster than 6X. You have to shut the computer off for a few minutes and then turn it back on to clear the problem up after each lightscribe labeling process. These drives you have selected are only different in the color of the faceplate. If you have a beige color computer case then get the beige faceplate, unless you like the contrast of having a black faceplate on a beige case. Lightscribe drives require special media with "burnable" labels on them they are made by HP and by Verbatim and bear the "Lightscribe" logo on the package.

Get whatever is on sale, if you can get one that comes with Nero for the burning software get that one. It is easy to use and works easily with dvd decription programs. You need special disks $$$ to use the lightscribe feature. The disks are expensive but you can use regular ones to just burn disks. Use +r dvds if you will want to be able to recopy them.
