Hmmm... sounds like a school assignment.
My suggestions (off the top of my head, mind you) are that you look at things like:
(1) The Ice Age (were there humans around?)... people migrating to survive because of climate change
(2) The colonial period, 17th and 18th centuries in particular... people migrating to new lands to take advantage of new opportunities; because there was nothing left for them where they were; and/or forced migration (England sent a lot of people to the American colonies against their will)
(3) The Industrial Revolution... people migrating to urban centers to take advantage of new jobs (might there be a current parallel with the mass mechinization of agriculture eliminating farm jobs?)
Good Luck!

Here is one:
The colonist left from England to America
They left because of religious persecution
The original colonists faced a harder lifestyle and harsher climates, however they persevered and eventually created their own nation.
Geography played a huge role in the American Revolution. There was always a form of disconnect with the British army and their "Motherland."
