Im not sure if its a real word or not but it is generally used to describe a person who is well...dingy...LOL A person who is goofy like i think...its not like idiot which would question thier intelligence its more to describe someone or yourself when you screw up something thats not a big deal. Hence the phrase Im such a dingbat.

It's a spacer used in typesetting by printers.
Actually it's two words, "ding"ing which is to place the spacer where required, and "bat"ing, which means to have it ready for inking.
Therefore, dingbat. :-)

It's someone who doesn't know what they want to do or not to do. Maybe they got hit in the head by a 2x4. Can also be considered a dunderhead, or a dodder-a stupid person. Hope that helps:)
