4x-6x+10+(8x/3)-(14/3)=0
-2x+8x/3=2x/3 & 10+(-14/3)=16/3
when you add both
2x/3 + 16/3=0
2x+16=0 (multiplying the complete equation with 3)
2x=-16
x=-8
the answer can't be 8 its -8

4x-2(3x-5)+2/3(4x-7)=0
The best way to keep track of where you need to add and subtract is to turn it all into addition by changing a minus to plus a negative.
4x+-6x+-10+8/3x+-14/3+0
Just work with one varible at a time to keep from getting confused.
-2x+-10+8/3x+-14/3=0
2/3x+-10+-14/3=0
2/3x+-16/3=0
You are adding 16/3 to both sides not subtracting. That is where everyone is getting confused.
2/3x=16/3
x=8

To double check insert 8 into the x spot and work out the problem

It has to be -8. Sometimes there is misprinting in books.

4x - 6x + 10 +8x/3 - 14/3 = 0

Taking LCM of 3 (or) multiplying both sides with 3

12x - 18x + 30 + 8x - 14 = 0

2x + 16 = 0

x = -16/2 = -8

distribute the 2 and the 2/3
4x - 6x + 10 + 8/3x - 14/3 = 0

combine like terms
-2x+8/3x+10-14/3 =0
2/3x-16/3=0

add 16/3 to both side
2/3x=16/3

solve for x
x = 8

2x = 16
x = 8

for the 1st one you first ingredient it and get (x+3)(x+4)=0. then you definately do x+3=0. subtract the three over and you get x=-3. then you definately get the x+4=0 and subtract the 4 over and get x=-4. so the solutions for the 1st difficulty are x= -3, -4. for the 2d difficulty you subtract the 40 4 over to the different area so the equation = 0. then you definately ingredient that and get (x-11)(x+4)=0. then you definately do x-11=0 and subtract the 11 over to get x=11. you do a similar with x+4=0 and get -4. your answeres for the 2d difficulty are x= 11,-4 3) x = 7, 4 4) x = 3/2, -one million/2
