hey! your almost like me!! (i'm a freshmen too)i'm was also in a private school and i'm shy and quiet! the thing was that i switched schools when i was in 6th grade! son't worry! you'll be fine. i'm shy and people don't pick at me. usuallly when someone does, someone else usaully tries to speak up for me. they are very nice so don't worry at all. you'll make friends easly. i don't talk that much, but i made a very great friend. just try to open up once you know you should. by then you would know, trust me!! plus, we're in high school. no one is that stupid to make fun of you. they'll probably just tease you, but its kind of fun. you'll get to laugh and be friends!!

Just be who you are. I don't think it will be hard switching between a private and a public school, unless you went to a really small school. The size of your new school might be a bit intimidating, but other than that you'll be cool. Just pick someone from one of your classes that you think would be cool to hang around with and ask them to show you around or if you could sit with them at lunch. If you're lucky, maybe your new school will assign someone to show you around.
As for the outfit, obviously you've worn normal clothes outside of a school setting, so just go for what you'd usually wear on the weekends or whatever.
Good Luck :)

things are going to be different- expect that and be glad of it-
i moved around alot when i was in school and while its hard- its good for you because you really learn who you are- who you want to hang out with, what your interests are all of that-
when you get to the new school go ahead and be quiet at first if thats who you are- thats fine- but be curious- watch how people treat other people and it'll be a good indication of how they'll treat you. and try new things- get involved with something you're interested in- drama club, science club the debate club, what ever- and you'll soon find friends with teh same interests as you! getting involved is the best way to make friends- and remember this- everyone, and i mean everyone, in highschool is insecure and feels out of place. thats what high school is- be positive, look for kind and loyal friends who share your interests (not the "cool" kids- they are usually backstabbing and cruel because they play into and off of the fact that everyone is insecure)
this is how i managed moving soo much- i made wonderful friends because i stayed true to who i was and what i liked and i would rather be the girl whom everyone liked for the right reasons than the girl who was cool for being a *****.
good luck- and think positively about this- life is all about change and moving to a new school will just prepare you for moree life changes like moving away form home and going to college etc...
good luck and enjoy high school!

Bless your heart! It will be fine! I went to public school and private school, so it's really not much different. It would be nice if the teacher had someone to show you around. I was afraid when I first moved and went to a new school in 7th grade, and I didn't know anyone, but after a month, I had friends and fit in, etc. Good luck!

well just be yourself. and if you want to hang around with cool people then be cool. but dont be a plastic fake.
when i first started secondrary school there was no one literally no one in my class apart from a freak from my primary school that i knew. two years ive got the best set of mates i could ever and i luv them to bits. and im not unpopular either :D
so just dont worry
and you wont get lost. my school is massive but i found my way round it on the second or third day. and im crap at maps and i dont know north from south and yardiyadiya
and also clothes wise ~ i wouldnt, if i were you, wear quirky, in-yer-face outdits. jeans, nice top, dolly shoes/ nice sneakers will do nicely for your first day.
well thats my opinion anyway = ]
good luck, just smile and be friendly. even if yu dont lyk the person yur going round with, its better than being a larry
toodles x

yeah man, you have nothing to worry about. It's freshman year, socially your sophmore year is the one that matter the most. It's only going to be a problem if you keep panicing and worrying about it when, if you just go wtih the flow, everything will work out how it's suppsoed to.

HEY I DID THE SAME THING!!!! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. PUBLIC SCHOOL IS FUN IF YOU HANG OUT WITH GOOD PEOPLE. AND THE BEST PART IS THAT PRIVATE SCHOOLS ARE MORE ADVANCED THAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS SO THE STUFF THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE LEARNING IN YOUR CLESSES YOU WILL ALREADY KNOW. THEY MIGHT EVEN PUT YOU IN HONOR CLASSES. THAT'S WHAT THEY DID WITH ME. IT WAS COOL I DIDN;T REALLY HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TILL MY SENOIR YEAR, BECAUSE I ALREADY LEARNED THAT STUFF IN PIRVATE SCHOOL.
PLUS THERE ARE MORE NEW PEOPLE TO MEET, AND THERE ARE SPORTS TEAMS YOU CAN JOIN.
YOU WILL BE JUST FINE.

You really have no need to fear changing schools because there are so many people at public schools ones bound to like you lol. don't worry theirs always people who like and those who don't find the ones that like you for who you are and what you do.
