In that situation, the person who's trying the hardest starts to feel resentment towards the person who's not trying. Eventually, the resentment builds up to a head until you're not even sure you want to be in a relationship with that person anymore. Love is replaced by animosity, compassion is replaced with indifference, and eventually, the relationship will end unless both parties involved communicate openly and are open to compromise.
A marriage is not 50/50. It's 100/100. You give 100% they give 100%. When one partner falls, its up to the other to carry 100+ until the other is able to stand again. Sadly, we're all human and a person can only run at 150% for so long.
Been there done that.

I think if it is one-sided the relationship is out of balance. If your partner is unwilling to work out a 100% for 100%...relatinship...not this 50/50 stuff. It takes 2 two work hard at a relationship. Relationships are like some what a buisness deal of agreements. We choose to love...after the hormones are calmed. If your partner is unwillin g to work it out with you fairly and you feel that you are unhappy and unheard...than maybe you should move on.....

If that's the case it will never work and the person that is doing all the communicating and compromising will eventually be the one hurt.

The relationship is doomed. There are 2 people in a relationship and 2 people need to contribute. Good luck!

You can't call it communication if only one is talking right??? Love is build and continues to grow if people find themselves not searching for their partners fault but helping them trying to accept who they are or better yet improve for the better. No one is perfect but still we all aim to perfection. If you don't trust each other and doubt is building in this relationship I'm afraid it won't last. Communication is the key but without this I don't think it will survive.

Your relationship may not work out. The two of you have to be willing to do both. Good Luck

Then you have a BIG problem on your hands.
Both parties have to love each other enough to want to live together in relative harmony and peace.
If one refuses to talk or compromise, that's not good.
