It's on the boundary between metals and non-metals. It does have some properties of both. For example, it does conduct electricity, but it doesn't (normally) form positively charged ions and ionic compounds.

Carbon cannot be classified as a metal or a non metal. It has metallic properties (electric conductivity, solid state in room temp., etc....) and non-metallic properties.

are you meaning carbon, like carbon fiber hood? if so then no its a fiber such as fiberglass, but tougher
