- I take responsibility for my health and the healthcare of my family. Government can find ways to make that easier, or they can overreact and make the quality suck, look at the models of government sponsered health care
- okay so any ill in society is because we don't provide enough information and alternatives, right? So those who propose smoking bans think that there will be more smoking as a result. Or that there was any less due to the surgeon general's warning?
- great, starving children b/c government isn't taking enough responsibility! I guess there are less starving children in N Korea, China, and other socialist countries, right?
- Taking from poor and giving to the rich? You got it backwards. The poor don't fund social programs, income tax rates go up the more you make. Find evidence to your point.
- If you're against sending jobs overseas, then you should be against raising minimum wages and manditory benefits to be offered by employers
- State colleges offer every opportunity to poor, but if you are middle class, you won't qualify for all the grants. I agree the cost is too high, but it's the middle class that gets saddled with loans b/c they don't get the grants. the very brightest and best get scholarships, even to the finest private colleges.
- the falsehoods about the falsehoods is irresponsible. Are you one of those who will call Bush a liar about the WMDs but overlook that all the leading democrats ar on record for declaring Iraq as a threat and calling for action? If so, I can lead you to the transcripts.
- responsibility dodgers are those that think the government is solution to everyone's problems, that the rich should be punished for being rich, and that people aren't capable of personally implroving themselves

Those all sound like personal responsibilities to me.
- Nobody is denied basic health care. There are plenty of programs to help if you can't afford it.
- Perhaps people shouldn't screw if they can't be responsible for the consequences. Personal responsibility!
- There are plenty of programs to help feed the hungry. Perhaps people shouldn't screw and have children if they can't afford to feed them?
- There is no taking from the poor to give to the rich. This is just a lie. Reality check!
- Jobs shifting overseas is a basic fact of free trade and open markets. Government cannot force businesses to keep jobs here.
- There are means to education for the best and the brightest regardless of their circumstances. In some cases it means having to work harder for it.
- The war hasn't claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, nor was it based on falsehoods. Reality check!
Also, you need to realize that none of the things you mentioned are a specified power granted to the federal government to expend the public treasure on. This means the spending is unConstitutional.

What essay is this and why don't I know about it?!? In the context of what we're studying in English (growing up, maturing, etc.), taking responsibility is one of the steps from childhood to adulthood. It's when you realize that your life is your problem, your future, your responsibility, as opposed to your parents, guardians, teachers, etc. Also, manhood is really taking responsibility for you actions and your family, if you want to look at the other books we've read. Ex., Okonkwo takes responsibility for himself by starting up his farm on his own, even though his father left him no yams. He swallowed his pride, and took on the responsibility of a man by asking for seed yams from a wealthy villager, and then being prompt in paying them back. However, his father did not take on the responsibility to work hard and grow a successful crop very well, and didn't repay his debts, which is part of the reason Okonkwo did not think he was really a man. Hope that helped =] PS- Be sure to paraphrase it, since I probably have to write this essay too XD

There are state welfare programs to help those who cannot afford insurance or health care and to help feed the hungry. Abortions occurred long before & long after sex education in schools. Don't kid yourself. These kids know where babies come from. The so called "rich" are probably trying to take care of themselves in their old age using the investments they made when they were younger in order not to have to go on welfare in their senior years. It would be much more patriotic to hire our own, but it is a free country and there are probably people on welfare that could be working but find it easier to live off of the tax payers who do work. There are scholarships available, state & federal help, community colleges with low or no tuition cost. It is also possible to work to pay for your higher education. Re the war, hopefully the president knows something that we don't know & has a plan that will work. War always involves killing innocent people regrettably. There will always be power hungry people that must be brought under control.

Why should I pay for your bad decisions?
Health care can be afforded, you just have to save for a deductable, with a high deductable you can get very cheap insurance, but that would take fore planning and resposibility on your part, not mine.
Why do you let your own children go hungry. This is the worste of all your statements by insinuating that you prefer to let your kids starve and hope for someone to come to their aide rather than feed them your self.
Show where anyone is taking from the poor and disadvantagewd to give to the rich, this just isn't happening.
Jobs going over seas is bad, but are you just going to sit back and do nothing? There is unemployment to help while you look for another job, there are job training programs you can use. It is up to you to use them though.
Pell grants and student loans, higher education is not being with held. But of course if you take a loan you will have to pay it back, I guess you don't want the responsibility of that, paying back your own debt.
I guess the fact that 9-11 happened and even democrats supported the war, with the same intellegence every one in the world had, doesn't matter any more to some.
I do not dodge responsibility, but lack of planning and preparidness on your part does not equate to an emergency for me. It is not my responsiblity to make everyones decisions for them, people have to be expected to take care of themselves.

I do you do not
It isn't the gov job to care for anyone it is a persons job to care for their selves
Any one going to emergency room is treated
Birth control is available to all at any school
Org help poor children and they do not go hungry
Take what from the poor and disadvantaged any taxes are refunded
Your question tell the story
Rid the USA of Illegals and enough job are here again
Never heard of scholarships for the best and brightest only one who are against vouchers are the libs
War based on intelligent all who seen agreed upon that war was needed just changed their minds as have only surrender on their minds
Dodging responsibility by claiming it's because of lack of responsibility? this is a liberal mental disorder

1. No. This hasn't happened yet in the US.
2. The vast abortions in this country are by middle class educated white women.
3. No. We do not let children go hungry in this country. Their parents do.
4. Makes no sense, whatsoever.
5. Thank a host of folks from Kissinger to Clinton for that one. And also thank liberals for making it too burdensome to run a business in the US.
6. Pell grants and Student loans are widely available.
7. Not supporting a war because you believe falsehoods will likely get many US citizens killed.
8. I am tired of carrying my own weight and the weight of every selfish and irresponsible American out there.

You must be a Communist, huh?
Because what you are asserting is nothing less than Communist propaganda and sophistry, i.e. none of that is true but you present it as though it were true and suggest that it needs to be fixed by government oversight and regulation.
Either that or you are just completely uninformed and are just reiterating what you have heard from someone else who is a Communist and believes that the government should manage all things for everyone.
