Wichita is an amazing city, actually. There's so much to do. If you like to drink tea, check out "Chelmsford Tea & Gifts," for a selection of some of the most unique loose teas from around the world. I found an African tea that tastes and smells like a campfire, (strange, I know).
There is a little shopping mall type area on MEAD street. It's very hard to find if you're not a local, but ask people if you have to, there are some great little shops such as, "Mus-e-yum" and "Lucindas" which have some great quirky items and great jewelry. You can find strange things such as; solid perfumes from barcelona, novelty lotions/chapsticks, handblown glass jewelry... and lots of things I can't even begin to list.
Also, the Clifton Shopping Square on Douglas is supposed to be great: a 19th century village of shops. I didnt' have a chance to check that out though.
I suggest you pick up a "What to do in Wichita" guide at a reststop or information center. They are usually full of interesting suggestions and often times you can get coupons as well. I am more of a quirky shopper, so these are the places that I flocked to. Get one of the free guides for suggestions more suited to your liking.

In spite of what other posters say, almost any city has a lot to offer. I'd suggest you do a search for "wichita nightlife" or "wichita attractions" to find what the place has to offer.
