I have Creative Labs sound blaster system and it crackles constantly. Reseting defaults in the sound blaster program temporarily fixes the problem but not long enough to even listen to a song and then the crackle is back. Whats wrong?

Hi. Try to isolate the source of the noise. First unplug from the computer and check for noise. If it's still there the problem lies in the speakers or cabling. If not then suspect the jack on the soundcard and wiggle it. You can try re-seating the SB card too.

check your connections to the speakers...sounds like you have an intermittent connection problem, your wires may be broken (internally in their jacket) you can test this simply by gently pulling on each wire and see if the crackling intensifies or decreases significantly, make sure the plugs are secure in the computer
