Muscle does NOT weigh more than fat...good lord I wish people would get over that. A pound of mucle weighs a pound. A pound of fat weighs a pound...However fat takes up more volume (room) than muscle. So it's possible that you've gained muscle, which would make you look smaller but weigh more.

Chances are though, that you've fallen in to the mind set of "I work out more, so I can eat more..." Monitor your diet carefully.

2) If you answered yes, keep doing what your doing. Muscle weighs more than fat and will give you a higher seated metabolism.

3) Get a trainer for a few months.

You have to remember, muscle weights more than fat and as you weight train, you building muscle that burns fat. As long as your measurements don't increase or clothes get tight, don't worry what the scales say. A well toned size 8 weighs a bit more than a non-toned size 8.

Kudos for exercising!

Try using 5-8 lbs. weights and do more repetitions rather than lifting heavier weights. Also balance your weight lifting with cardio exercise. No matter, as they all said muscle weighs more....but muscles burn more fat!!!!

Awesome Hollie!

That's a great thing- that means you're gaining muscle mass- keep it up! You'll still burn fat, its just that muscle weighs more so you wont be able to tell on a scale

Ok one possibility is, you are swollen, you are retaining water... the other and less likely is you are building muscle, which i think is difficutl, cause a couple of weeks would be too fast. Watch your diet, cause we tend to eat more when we workout.

like everyone is saying.. muscle mass is much heavier then fat, so it is logical for you to gain some weight..

the true measurement is to use body fat calipers and see your body fat percentage decreasing.. try to ignore the scale a little.
