Respect is something that is earned, not given. However, you should always give people a chance, no matter their gender. If you already have your mind made up that men are worthless, then you are denying all men the chance to prove otherwise. And, you are denying them the chance to earn your respect.

Ah my dear in any other time I would full heartily agree with you. Except at this point in my life I see that that statement isn't altogether accurate. Men do have feelings, in fact they are very emotional, at least the ones I live with!, extremely sensitive...that is when you argue with them. As for sexual animals, well my dear a lot of animals in the animal world show great affection and love to their partners and don't just go around rogering senselessly-at least not all of them. And anyway, not all men are the same; for I have often found there are some women that would apply to your description as well. I imagine there are some diamonds in the rough, if there wasn't well then I'm sure everything would have collapsed long before now. You can be sure of that!

Because they have won a few world wars for your country.
Because most of the great art, music and scientific discoveries have been by men, even if it is partially because women were less allowed to do these things.
Because to be human is to be deserving of respect, despite weaknesses.
Females are sexual animals as well. It is true that male and female sexuality is different, with men seeming more promiscuous.
No self control is a blanket statement--which is rarely true.

They're not all the same. I know lots of men who treat their women and all women with nothing but respect (if they deserve it of course). Yes, there are some men who don't care about anyone but themselves but there are also women who are the same way so it pretty much evens out. Trust me, don't take a couple of bad experiences out on all men. There really still are some good ones out there.

Respect is something you have to give before you can get it. Regardless of their behaviour everyone deserves respect. You seem to be a bit jaded when it comes to men. I have met many wonderful men who are not the least bit sexual. I think it depends on where you are meeting these 'men'. Bars and chat rooms are usually full of 'men' on the make. I have found that if I act respectful toward a 'man' who acts otherwise tends to make him follow suit. Men respond to women depending on how they dress and act. Men are visual creatures. A lot of men have complained to me about how women act toward them. They don't enjoy being the target of a woman's anger and bitterness.

No one said you have too! Sounds like you have had someone do you wrong.
Respect is earned! Look and be with people that compliment you and make you want to respect them or move forward. Life is too short to hold bad feelings for very long it hurts you more than them!

Respect is something that you grant to a person who has earned it or shown themselves worthy of it. And, yes, in general I respect more women than men, but the occasional man has earned my respect.

i can see where u might be getting this from, but not all men are like that. u have to try hard to avoid the type of men u just decribed above & try trusting the good ones. gl
