Healthcare isn't a 'right'. The Founding Fathers didn't put that in the Constitution. Healthcare is a commodity to be bought and sold; doctors are businessmen. If you want some healthcare, then by all mean....go ahead and purchase some. The government has no place interfering.

ABSOULTELY AGAINST!
Socialized medicine is THE WORST thing we could do. It has been proven over and over again that the private sector does things better, more efficiently, cheaper and produces a higher quality product than the goverment. COMPETITION drives companies to do better for the consumer.
First taxes would have to be raised (tremendously) to support all the bureaucratic BS that will go along with Universal Health Care--and not to ensure quality. Why do so many Canadians come to the US for health care? Because it's better here. No waiting months to see your primary care doctor and even longer for a referral to a specialist.
Government regulation does not ensure quality--on the contrary--agencies are not responsive to the consumer but to the pressure of lobbyists. So the government will protect the big guy and quality standards are lost.

Against. Universal health care would mean the Gov't. decides if and when you're sick or need surgery. Canada and Europe has this and they wait years for knee replacements because they can still walk in the meantime.
Also, research and development would decline because the Dr.s that do it would not be able to get enough money to do it. There won't be an outside interest in it, and it would be left up to the Gov't to do it, and we all know how that works.
It's great in theory that everyone will have health care, but it's what you have to go through to get it. Anyone that has ever had to go through Gov't red tape for anything (welfare, food stamps, unemployment, IRS, driver's license, etc) would agree.
Plus, this is a Democratic society, not Socialist, which basically means "Get off your duff and do it for yourself", don't wait for the Gov't to do it. Take a look at France. How does anything get done over there?

I am very much against universal health care simply because the quality of the care will decrease. Anyone who needs healthcare now can get it. What most people don't know is that every (all of them) hospital that wants to accept federal money (Medicare) must accept anyone who comes through their door. Most large cities have clinics for those without insurance.
Part of being in America is that I can choose to pay for the best or accept less than the best. That is part of the American Dream.
Many people say that healthcare is a right. It isn't. The only thing we have a right to is life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Period. Each person can eat right (fresh fruits and vegetables), run or walk (that's free) and otherwise take care of themselves. Even though I have insurance, I don't visit the doctor for much. Your body will take care of itself for the most part, if you take care of it first. Instead of universal health care, I would rather teach people to take care of themselves...simple things like brushing their teeth (so they don't have to go to the dentist) and eating right.

In this country EVERY LAST PERSON has the right and opportunity to better themselves thru hard work, ideas, effort, etc.... and those that don't make it have to live with the choices that made it so.... there is no reason, unless someone is completely mentally helpless, that every last person cannot do what is necessary to have health insurance....
What gives someone the right to think that if they do not take the personal responsibility for themselves and their family, that someone else OWES it to them to provide it???
In this country, you have the right to succeed, just as you have the right to fail. That is a little thing called FREEDOM. The government is not your Mommy. The government is not, nor should it be a charity. The government is set up to PROMOTE the GENERAL welfare, not to PROVIDE the INDIVIDUAL welfare.

the respond isn't time-honored well being Care. the respond is non-income scientific insurance. insurance companies have destroyed our well being care gadget just to make money. insurance companies pay hospitals to no longer do particular try on particular people because of the fact if the well being facility did those try to located a ailment in a affected person, the medicine for the treatment could advise enormous $$$$ out of the insurance companies wallet.
