Self-realization and the particular relationship you have with the world. Some people are troubled or oversensitive and do not relate well to those around them. Other times, people have had bad childhoods or traumatic experiences, so they shut out others. It is all very human and very dysfunctional at the same time.
I think people who have inspiration in their lives tend to do better. When you feel you have a purpose and a vision for yourself, you want to move forward. Also, letting go of the past. People who live day-to-day are just being careless by being so carefree. People who gloat and hang on to the past (I was like this in the past) are bogged down by guilt and burdens and never move forward. You have to let go, forgive, seek justice and then move on.

I think everybody could be a better person if practice respect to others, the human nature makes us different and unique, if we understand that fact, and despite of being pleased or I disliked with the neighbor, all of us accept others in the society just like they are, surely the world would be a better place to live. Utopia?

INTELLECT & INTELLIGENCE MAKE THE ONE A BETTER PERSON!
Yes! the "Intellectual Knowledge" & the "Intelligent Love" make one the whole and perfect!
If there is no "Knowledge" you cannot survive in this materialistic world;
at the same time, if your Life is to be a meaningful one, you should "find" and "feel" the taste of "LOVE"!
In other words you should 'Live your Love' in a more compassionate way with all human beings and all living creatures!
SO, A BETTER PERSON SHALL BE A MIXTURE OF "Love" & "Wisdom" both, in 50-50 ratio!

now people only want money so i think human beings cannot became a better person it is impossible in my view
but they can if money is no more in this world
