1 - Soak the ankle in an Epsom Salt helps with the pain and swelling.
2 - Take an anti-inflamatory (Tylenol, Advil, etc.)
3 - Keep it elevated and try to keep your weight off of that leg.
4 - Wrap it with an bandage for support (loosely).

If it does not improve in a few days you may need an x-ray.

Take Care!

a sprained ankle takes time to heal. In fact sprain can sometimes take longer to heal than a fracture, depending on the type of sprain. You may have a torn ligament or at worst a hairline fracture.
Use the principles of RICE.

Rest
ICe
or other Cold compress
Elevation

Also an antiinflamatory such as ibuporphin can help. But you may need a stronger dose to have antiinflamatory properties. You may need a perscription for something like relafin or celebrex.
