I seriously doubt it. After all, most of us would never consider eating another person. This is not only because of the fact that we identify with them due to our belonging to the same species, but it is also because largely through communication, we learn to empathize with one another. I think that more of us would empathize with animals if we could hold a conversation with them. I dare say that many of us would even have friendships with some!:)

Animals eat other animals. So I don't think a conversation with them will keep us from eating them.

I have three cats, which I talk to and they occasionally talk back. This doesn't stop me from eating meat. I just don't think about where the meat came from when I'm eating it. Vegetables were once alive too and yet people have no issues eating them.

Maybe not, because is not like your going to eat cat or dog. It would be different if you were sitting there chowing down on some panther, and your pets are looking at you like your going for them next.

Perhaps, as it's hard to eat something you talked to, but then again cows and chickens are extremely stupid animals. But on the other hand humans are undeniably omnivores and that's the way I'll remain.

Maybe. Then the animals would not be afraid that we would eat them up.

probably not cause we'd form a relationship with them. its like ppl and their pets. they talk to their dog etc. and they get attached to them and would never consider eating them for dinner
