I have about 6 plants in my tank and some of them are starting to get little holes with with black around them what is this from?

Plants basically need three things to be successful;

*Good full spectrum Lighting (especially high and low Nanometer)

*Ferts such as nitrates

*Bio available carbon

You also may have snails and/or fish nibbling on your plants as well.

Plants in an aquarium can be really tricky. The holes could be from fish eating them, lack of the right amounts of the right minerals in the water, too much of some minerals can cause that, inadequate or improper lighting could be the issue... quite a few things. It wqill probably take a bit of detective work to find the right answer. I would recommend you start with a few websites and consider a planted aquarium book or two. Planted tanks often pose more of a challenge than the fish do. Best of luck and you might try the link below for a starting place.
