What should be done about the Homeless situation in the US?

- You may not know it but several major cities on the east coast gave (and I'm told still do), their homeless populations one-way bus tickets to any location they chose out of state. The majority ended up in Nevada and California.

- Not too long ago in San Francisco then Mayor Willie Brown sent police officers out to major streets to remove or arrest any vagrants they saw. The President George W. Bush was visiting and Brown wanted to show him a "Clean" San Francisco. After the President left the homeless were released with nothing said.

- Here in the Bay Area, developers spend Millions on building Condos that the normal person cannot afford and in the procees close down soup kitchens and homeless shelters.

- A non-profit group called "Food not Bombs" tries to feed the homeless and hungry population of San Francisco daily but are usually asked to leave or arrested because they don't have a vendors licsence to sell food. (they're giving it away free but they still need a sellors permit! Make sense? Nope!)

I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the idea.

Should a student be allowed to go to the school of their choice or should it be mandated which school they will attend.

Every school is different. Maybe not in philosophy but what it physically has to offer.(ie the latest computer labs, swimming pools, lighting, clean environment.) Shouldn't students of all levels of socioeconomical levels get an equal education?

If you really want to see what I am suggesting. Go on a tour of schools in your county. You will quickly see.
