You are in luck:
A. I am a doctor.
B. I have MS

MS cannot be "caused" by an accident or trauma. It is a medical problem that is caused by your immune system attacking the protective covering around nerves in the brain and spinal cord. It has usually been present for a long time before anyone has noticable symptoms.

An accident can cause the symptoms of MS to be more noticable. Any illness or physical stress can do that. This is called an "exacerbation". So if the doctor wants to test for MS, he (or she) probably sees signs currently and also has noted some historical evidence that MS is a potential diagnosis.

Hope this helped.

I am not in the health profession, but I have heard several times of unusual physical or mental stress triggering latent diseases, such as diabetes in the physical realm, and schizophrenia in the mental (also physical, I guess).
Since ms is a disease that remains dormant for a while, I can well imagine that an accident, or an unusual stress, could trigger it.
