I admire the way black people, asians, hispanics, etc can be proud of thier culture, skin and who they are. I have also noticed that its considered wrong to be proud if your white. Will this ever change? I am not ashamed of who I am. I deserve to wear my pride just like everyone else.

I am white and i have never ever been given any type of privilege. It is so funny, Some people think that if your born white your born with a starter package trust fund or something. Those of you who believe that white people have it easier or have an advantage have it *** backwards. I grew up in selma Ca, I went to selma high school and my graduating class consisted of 38 white people and over 500 hispanics. I was jumped a total of 6 times throughout high school and nearly put into acoma Because i was White and i stood up for myself, the only one who did in that school actually. All day long the mexicans would walk by and stare the white people down and if you made eye contact they would start **** and say stuff like "You got a problem ese?" or "Pinche Gringo" In California, unless you live in an upper middle class white neighborhood white people are the minority and are treated horrlibly. But if a black man went to a one of those upper middle class white neighborhoods he would not experince one bit of racism (Unless he was dressed like a gangster and had no business being there. But that would happen to a White trash person too.

Why can't you be proud to be a Caucasian? Are you personally responsible for what caucasians did centuries ago or what some are still doing today? If you are a decent person who respects others regardless of their race, creed, nationality or sexual preference & treats others with the same respect that you want to be treated with there is no reason for you not to be proud.

It's nothing wrong with being proud to be white/black/whatever. I personally think it's pointless because it's just something that you get at birth. It's not an achievement and has nothing to do with a person's character or lack thereof. It would be just the same if someone were proud to have green eyes.

But yea, be proud, I guess. But just don't let that pride make you think that you're better than anyone else. That's when we have problems.

Well, what are you? You aren't just "white". Whites are German, Irish, Scottish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Norweigan, Swedish, Swiss, Austrian, etc, etc, whatever you are, you can celebrate your roots through that, rather than just being proud of being "white". There are Scottish Festivals, German Oktoberfest and such, many ethnic groups have festivals that you could participate in.
Whites really aren't a single group. But neither or blacks in the US, most of which come from eastern africa- yet many of them group all blacks as though they are one, when in fact they are quite different in Africa, distinguished from one another not onlky by culture but by differing body characteristics and traits, such as skin color, heighth, facial features, etc.-
Much of the most interesting "history" of the Arayan race occured long ago, and is to some extent bypassed in general school study. The ancient Celts, the Germanic Tribes, the Vikings, Gauls, Picts, these peoples and others like them have awesome histories that are overwhelmingly interesting compared to to the relatively minor and insignificant histories of blacks and hispanics, although much more effort is made to recognize theirs, while the Arayans are passed over.

I'm not quite sure how to answer this. I don't think it's race that people are proud of i think it's their heritage. So caucasions can be proud that their ansestors were from England or ireland etc. So instead of being white and proud be irish american and proud(just an example)

I agree with you completely - you should. I once heard an individual say that racism is not just a nasty word, for example "cracker", but the institution that prevents people of ANY colour from achieving what they could. If you are proud, then be so. If you do NOT support any institution that will not allow others to do so, then fine. I don't think you need to know about slavery or what the Germans did under the Nazis, since you are not a German or a slaveowner.

I am not caucasion and I personally would never hinder you from celebrating who you are. I think everyone should. But the only problem is when we focus on negative things, not that you would. We can all celebrate our great presidents, actors, mucisians, inventors, holidays and battles. But some things in every races' past are things we should be ashamed of. Unfortunately some people are proud of that. I have seen flags from Haiti, Africa,Etc. here in America, no problem they love their countries, but they must remember there loyalty should be here if they want to stay here. Celebrate who you are where you come from! Have fun! America is Land of the Free. But just think of how you would feel if the children of the hijackers wanted to celebrate their joy of 9/11 here in America.

And you should be proud of who you are. . . if you know that you are not racist, the it shouldnt matter what others think about you. Be proud. . .I am mixed with black and white, and I am proud, I never say I wish i was this race or that one. I am proud to be who i am and that doesnt make me racist.... Be white and be proud...
Just be proud of who you are and where you come from.

Never be ashamed of your color or heritage. Not a single culture in history has not had it's mistakes. Having so many ethnic groups and cultures here in America, blended together, has made our home a baston of freedom. Just for the record I am also white and of European descent.

I am no racist. My ancestors had nothing to do with slavery and they emigrated to this country well after the Civil War. I am proud to be an American and the color of my skin happens to be white. I don't agree with all of American history, such as slavery, but I do not take the blame for it either.
