wii component cables? Do i turn on a switch on my wii or HDTV?

I need to switch it to 480P or 480I? Confused. Do I switch it on the Wii and T.V? What is better widescreen or standard. Tx

I have a Wii and a widescreen HDTV, connected with component cables. I have the Wii set to 480p, widescreen. On the TV, I have to "stretch" the image to fill the screen every time I turn on the Wii - that's just how the Wii is designed to work.

If you have a widescreen HDTV: 480p is better than 480i, and widescreen is better than standard.
