you can't get TSS from a pad,
only a tampon, and never leave one in for more
than 8 hours.
And yes, please take a bath.

24 hours is too long to be whereing the same pad although it is say... put from a personal hygiene perspective its not good! What you want to do on light days like you've just experienced is to wear panty liners for just in case.
You should have three different pads on hand super for heavy days
medium for not so heavy and light
liners for just n case in which you should were on a daily basis for discharge of any kind.
Toxic shock are a result of tampons only! As far as taking a bath, you can do so at anytime even when your on your cycle if you feel the need to, its up to you and you don't need a tampon because the water automatically stops the flow until you get out but if you should experience cramps as a result don't try it anymore just take a shower instead, it also stops the flow.
You don't need a tampon to shower or bathe my dear...take a bath while on your cycle only slows down the process so you end up with an extra day at the most.

You only gett TSS from leaving in the same TAMPON for more than 6+ hours due to a buildup of bacteria.
Wearing the same pad is just gross - it can start to smell and isn't hygenically a good idea, especially if you have a heavy flow.
You can take a bath anytime during your period, you don't have to wait for it to stop. Baths help with cramps.
You sound young - you should talk to you mother or the school nurse if you have more questions about menstruation.

Wearing the same maxi pad for 24 hours is gross and unclean. You can't get TSS from a pad. Wow, I can't believe you asked that question! You can only get TSS from a tampon and even then, the risk is extremely low. You can take a bath without a tampon! Why couldn't you?

No it is not safe, you should always change it even if you don't see anything on it... pads hold in the bacteria.
Who told you that? You can take a bath whithout a tampon when having your period... my beeding use to cease or slow down while in the water. You don't get TSS from pads you get them from tampons.

Listen chicka, you wont get tss from a pad, but you could get a yeast infection if you don't change it. Just buy panty liners for the lighter days. You can take a bath any day of your period....it can help with cramps. AND don't let nasty rude people get you down, if you have questions, even if it may sound silly, you ask away, that is why some of us are here, to answer questions in a friendly and seriouse manner. Good for you for being brave!

I wouldn't get all worked up over getting TSS, you primarily get them from using tampons that are left in too long, wheras a pad you wear outside your body, so your chances are slim to none, but if you experience fever, chills, cramping etc. than you better go to the doctor but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much. Yes you take a bath!! The only reason I can think of why you wouldn't want to wear one that long is the smell.

Who in the hell told you that you cant use bath while on period? You can if you use tampon. Of course dont if you are a virgin. I mistakingly wanted to feel like a woman and got a tampon. Thats how i broke my own hymen because my first boyfriend told me i didnt have it. I remember going though sharp pains too so i guess those werent cramps i just made myself a female. Pretty dumb so dont do it.
Now when it comes to wearing same pad for more then 24 hrs or i even say more then 12 hrs is bad. Personally that tells is a low hygene and secondly thats how females get yeast infection and you dont want that. So make sure you switch them every 4-6 hrs. Now when you are light use panty liners....they are thin and wil protect you from spotting. Other then that sure pamp yourself and take a nice hot buttle bath. You can even do it now that you just spotting. Enjoy yourself!

You can only get TSS from tampons, not pads, but i wouldn't wear it that long, i mean you don't wear your underwear that long. just use a light days liner or something. and why couldn't you bathe? did you just start getting your period? you seem like you've never gone threw this before. Of course you can bathe.

Its okay, you wont get TSS from wearing a pad for a long time, only if you do that with a tampon are you in danger. If you think your period has ended than you can go and have a bath without worrying. But put your mind at ease, you'll be fine.

Oh gosh.. for sanitary reason your pad should be changed often throughout the day. even if your flow is light. You can bathe anytime during your period, though some prefer to shower until their flow has slowed down, then take a bath.
